VCMA Fun Day at Milner

10:00am -- 2:00pm (arrive at 7:30am if you have pre-ordered birds)

Location: 135 Ethridge Mill Road, Milner, GA  30257 (RSVP for written directions)

Free for VCMA members or those who join on the day, $10 each for non-members

Join us in Milner for another Vizsla Fun Day! Your dog can run in the fields, swim in the pond, try their paw at doggie games, and work on BIRDS! Also your human family can enjoy a yummy potluck lunch and great camaraderie!

We’ll gather at 10:00 (7:30 if you want to do the orientation to hunting and have pre-ordered birds)  with lunch starting around noon. **FYI we do NOT have access to a refrigerator (or power for that matter) to store food; but that’s nothing a cooler full of ice can’t remedy**

The Fun Day is free for VCMA members or those joining the club - we will have application forms on hand. Non-members pay $10 each.

To work your dog on birds, please contact Kelly (kellywood1111@gmail.com or 678-296-9608) to reserve your birds!

No gun work allowed because of the young ages and inexperience of some of the dogs that will be attending. We don’t want to scare any little ones!!

Bird prices are as follows:

$4 per quail

Birds must be pre-ordered and pre-paid. The deadline to order birds is Wednesday September 22nd. We are starting the birdwork at 7:30 since it will still be cooler and the scenting conditions will be best. Not to worry if you are new to this, we will have experienced people there to guide you! There will be a short intro to hunting orientation with demonstrations to follow then we will break into groups and answer any questions you may have and start the bird work!! Oh yeah!!

We’ll also have fun dog games both you and your pooch will enjoy!!

Please bring a dish to share for lunch. Contact Kelly to indicate what you will be bringing at kellywood1111@gmail.com or 678-296-9608.

Please bring a way to contain your dog during lunch: crate, stake-out, car, etc.

Don’t forget the human stuff too!! i.e. Water, bug repellant and sun screen if necessary. Also, since this is a legal hunting ground everyone must wear something BLAZE ORANGE while in the field. Yes, even though there will not be any shooting we still must be fashionably visible in orange. ;-)
